Susan Kuhnhausen, 51, showed incredible courage and quick-thinking when she foiled the mission of Edward Dalton Haffey and stopped him dead in his tracks. Literally.

Haffey had been hired to kill Susan and she came home from work to find him in her home, coming at her with a claw hammer. Despite the fact that Haffey managed to land a blow to Susan’s head, she wrested the hammer from his hands and got a choke-hold on him. Haffey died of strangulation.

Susan was in the middle of a divorce and her husband had hired the hitman. Neighbors praised the nurse for her courage in fighting off the attack.
