Regardless of individual views on the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, the majority of the American public supports our troops serving in these conflicts. If you are like me, you probably know at least one mother of a service member overseas.

Service members who are returning from duty face financial and emotional issues in reconstructing their daily lives. A non-profit group in San Diego, Freedom is Not Free, has found a unique way to raise money to aid wounded veterans and the families of those who were fatally wounded.

Now available is the 2007 America’s Heroes Reconnaissance Marines Calendar. The calendar features Marines and ex-Marines in somewhat beefcake poses. Two of the marines featured were wounded in Iraq.

The calendar costs $14.99 and 100% of the proceeds go to help wounded heroes and their families.

You have to look at a calendar anyway, why not enjoy it?
